Hi-Res Connectivity and CD Support

R410 provides all the connectivity you are ever likely to need. Streaming is its speciality, but if you want to play LPs or CDs, these can still be enjoyed by connecting a turntable to the dedicated phono inputs or our R-CD100 CD player to the USB-C connector. Also with its HDMI ARC/eARC input, you can connect most modern TVs to R410, with its expansive sound making watching TV, a wholly enjoyable experience.

Able to support the highest quality audio streams, R410 takes sound quality to a new level. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect are built-in and with the addition of Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, you can stream directly from apps such as Apple Music and BBC Sounds with better than CD sound, and for radio lovers, R410s Internet Tuner provides swift access to an amazing choice of stations worldwide. If desired you can also build a flexible multi-room system, linking R410 with other AirPlay and Google Cast speakers, including our R610 and R810 models.

Apple AirPlay

AirPlay is a proprietary wireless technology developed by Apple Inc. that lets you stream music directly over Wi-Fi to all our 100 Series products from iOS apps such as Apple Music, Deezer, BBC Sounds, TuneIn Radio and many more in high-resolution sound quality.

Google Cast

Google Cast is a wireless technology developed by Google. It is primarily used in Android devices but also works with many iOS apps.

With Google Cast you can stream music directly over Wi-Fi to any of our 100 Series products from apps such as Amazon Music and BBC Sounds in high-resolution sound quality.

Also with a Google Nest Hub or smart speaker, you can control playback with your voice. Setting this feature up requires the Google Home app, but once done you can simply say “Hey Google, play BBC Radio 3 on my R810” or suchlike and the system will respond as instructed.

Spotify Connect

Spotify Connect (currently the world’s most popular streaming platform) allows you to stream music over Wi-Fi to any of our 100 Series products. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device battery power, because Connect technology pushes music directly from the Spotify cloud to 100 Series products rather than playing through the device. This means that you can take calls and messages without interruption or even switch off your device completely.

TIDAL Connect

TIDAL Connect is a high-resolution music streaming service that allows you to stream music over Wi-Fi to any of our 100 Series products. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device battery power, because the TIDAL Connect technology pushes music directly from the TIDAL cloud to 100 Series products rather than playing through the device. This means that you can take calls and messages without interruption or even switch off your device completely.

Apple Music

Apple Music is Apple’s own music streaming service. Subscribe to Apple Music and you have access to over 100 million songs which you can stream wirelessly to any of our 100 Series products using Apple AirPlay with better than CD sound quality.

Amazon Music

If you are an Amazon Music user you can browse music/playlists and control playback directly from within the Amazon Music app to any of our 100 Series models using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast for better than CD quality sound.

BBC Sounds

BBC Sounds is a great app that puts everything BBC radio-related into one easy-to-use package. Compatibility with both AirPlay and Google Cast devices means you can browse, control and playback directly from within the BBC Sounds app to any of our 100 Series products with high-resolution sound.

Deezer

Deezer users can browse music/playlists and control playback directly from within the Deezer app to any of our 100 Series models using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast for better than CD quality sound.

Qobuz Connect

Qobuz Connect is a high-resolution music streaming service that allows you to stream music over Wi-Fi to any of our 100 Series products. Unlike Bluetooth, it does not drain your device battery power, because the Qobuz Connect technology pushes music directly from the Qobuz cloud to 100 Series products rather than playing through the device. This means that you can take calls and messages without interruption or even switch off your device completely.

Internet Radio

The choice of Internet radio stations is vast and in general, sound quality is superior to that of DAB or FM. Have fun browsing, national and international stations and save your favourites as presets for easy access using 100 Series’ intuitive RotoDial controllers. Up to 20 stations can be stored for quick recall.

DAB/DAB+ Radio

Internet radio is rapidly becoming the choice for most radio listening, as an aerial is not required, but DAB/DAB+ is easy to use and offers a greater selection of stations than FM.

FM Radio

FM radio is still a great way to listen to radio as it exhibits a natural analogue warmth that is missing in low-bitrate DAB radio. In particular, it works well with spoken word and classical music, but a professionally installed good quality external aerial is highly recommended for best reception and sound.

Bluetooth HD

With a super high-quality aptX Bluetooth receiver built-in, it means you can wirelessly stream music from your smartphone or computer to any of our 100 Series models with better-than-CD sound quality without the need for a Wi-Fi connection. All our 100 Series models remember up to eight previously connected devices, making it easy to switch and connect quickly as required. Ideal in a busy family environment.

Wi-Fi

All our 100 Series models are 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz compatible so they will wirelessly connect and communicate with the latest dual-band home Wi-Fi routers.

Ethernet

The ethernet connector on the rear of our 100 Series models allows you to connect directly into the internet. This is done by plugging directly into one of the ethernet sockets on your home router or if you have a home wired with ethernet, connect to a convenient socket. Ethernet connection provides optimum performance and eliminates Wi-Fi strength issues around the home. Another option is to use ethernet powerline adaptors which are easy to obtain and good to use, particularly if your device is located some distance from your Wi-Fi router.

HDMI

With HDMI ARC/eARC connectivity, all our 100 Series products make a superb sound system for TVs and a complete solution for your entertainment needs. HDMI ARC/eARC connection also syncs 100 Series with your TV, so you can use the TV remote to adjust volume as well as turn on and off.

Optical Input

The switchable optical input on our 100 Series models allows you to easily connect devices such as CD players or external streamers with optical outputs for optimum sound quality.

Phono Input

All our 100 Series models feature two sets of switchable RCA inputs.

The phono-in input is a dedicated turntable input which has RIAA phono gain stage allowing a turntable with a moving magnet cartridge to be directly connected without the need for a separate preamplifier.

The line-in input allows you to connect a variety of auxiliary devices with line-level outputs such as a standard CD player or gaming console.

Subwoofer Output

R410 and R610 deliver remarkable bass for their size, but if you require even greater bass performance an active subwoofer can be easily connected to the subwoofer output on both models. Our own RS1 Subwoofer is ideal for this task.

CD Connectivity

For CD fans we have produced our own compact disc player called R-CD100. This integrates and connects with all our 100 Series products via the USB socket on the rear. When connected, CD is automatically added to the list of sources and then using the RotoDial controller you can control playback just as you would a built-in player.

Multiroom

Using either Apple AirPlay or Google Cast, you can build an easy-to-manage multi-room system, linking 100 Series models together or with other AirPlay and Google Cast compatible speakers.

Wireless Updates

Wireless updates mean that we can provide over the air updates to our 100 Series models. This may be to add a new feature or to to fix a reported issue, but most importantly it ensures that they are always working as they should.

UPnP Streamer

With all our 100 Series models you can rip your CDs or store downloaded music on a PC, Mac or network-attached storage device to create your own home music library and then browse and playback using the Media Player source.

Our 100 Series models are capable of supporting all the most popular audio file formats to the highest resolutions, providing true high-fidelity reproduction.

Beautiful to Control

Our RotoDial control system has been a distinctive part of Ruark products since the introduction of our R1 in 2006, but for 100 Series we have refined its design from top to bottom. Also included with R410 is a matching rechargeable remote. Bluetooth connectivity means that aiming is not required – and like a quality watch, it’s an item that you will love to use, as it looks and feels so good.

Beautiful to See

R410’s advanced processor has allowed us to provide a slick user interface, handling input from apps and our control system and promptly displaying the interaction on R410’s colour high-resolution display. The portrait orientation of the display intentionally emulates the way that we view most services on our smartphones, making R410 intuitive to use, but most importantly the display brings an interactive element to R410 that few other systems offer.
